8th October – Interviewing Minoli Salgado’s first book launch, winner of the SI Leeds Literary Prize at the Southbank

9th October – hosting poetry evening with Liyou Libsekal,  winner of the second Brunel
Uni African Poetry Prize and Kirsty Capes-Edwards,
Emma Jeremy and Romany Stott at Brunel Uni Author Series. 6.15pm, Library,

10th October – Hosting session on the Brunel University African Poetry Prize at Cheltenham Literature Festival, with Liyou Libsekal (winner) and Nick Makoha (shortlisted poet).

18th October – Appearing at the Nottingham Festival of Words, to read from and discuss Mr Loverman.

Working on a new book…
Delivering several talks including the keynote for the first ever black British womens’ writing conference, ‘Tracing the Tradition and New Directions’ in July at the University of Brighton; and the annual lecture for the Literary London Conference, Institute of Education, University of London, also in July.

My novella, Hello Mum, has been chosen as a World Book Night giveaway (April)
Will be touring the USA from 7-14 April.
Will be appearing at OCM Bocas Caribbean Literary Festival in Trinidad, last week of April and also judging the poetry prize for the above
Co-edited Brunel Uni’s first fiction anthology, The Voices Inside Our Heads (March)
